Overview

Programme Structure

Master of Arts
Minimum number of credit units required for Master of Arts (Chinese Language and Literature Stream/ Chinese History and Cultural Heritage Stream): 30, including:
  1. 1 Programme Core Course (3 credit units);
  2. 3 designated Stream Core Courses (3 credit units each);
  3. 18 credit units from Stream Electives, of which at least 9 credit units must be taken from electives of the student’s own stream.

Minimum number of credit units required for Master of Arts (Professional Development in Chinese History and Cultural Heritage Stream): 60
Students are required to follow the normative one-year curriculum  of Chinese History and Cultural Heritage Stream (30 credit units) at CityUHK in their first year, and follow the curriculum specially designed and taught by Peking University (PKU) (30 credit units) at PKU in the second year. Postgraduate Diploma
Minimum number of credit units required for Postgraduate Diploma (Chinese Language and Literature Stream/ Chinese History and Cultural Heritage Stream): 24, including:
  1. 1 Programme Core Course (3 credit units);
  2. 3 designated Stream Core Courses (3 credit units each);
  3. 12 credit units from Stream Electives, of which at least 9 credit units must be taken from electives of the student’s own stream.

Postgraduate Diploma is not applicable to Professional Development in Chinese History and Cultural Heritage Stream.

Postgraduate Certificate
Minimum number of credit units required for Postgraduate Certificate (The stream designation is not available.): 12
  • Any 4 courses (except CAH6507 Master’s Dissertation)

Postgraduate Certificate is not applicable to Professional Development in Chinese History and Cultural Heritage Stream.
