CityUHK Distinguished Lecture by Prof. Hans van de Ven successfully held on 28 August 2024

The Department of Chinese and History was privileged to host Prof. Hans van de Ven from Cambridge University for a CityU Distinguished Lecture on August 28, 2024. Entitled “The Great Occlusion: The End of Empire and the Emergence of a New Asia, 1945-1950", the insightful one-hour lecture received enthusiastic responses from the audience and was ended with a lively Q&A session.

Prof. Hans van de Ven is appointed as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at CityUHK. During his visit from August 27 to 30, he met with CAH faculty members and doctoral students. Plans for more substantial exchange and collaboration for the upcoming years have also been shaped during his visit.
