Identity Of Their Time: Poles In Harbin, 1896 - 1930
[ Due to the unpredictable traffic conditions, we regrettably announced that the exhibition "Identity of their Times: Poles in Harbin 1896-1930" is cancelled. ]
In the late 19th century, when the Russian owned railway company started the construction of the Dongqing Railway in 1897, Poles under the Russian government were dispatched to Harbin to participate in the construction. The Poles established their community and retained their unique Polish identity while settling in Harbin. In this exhibition, we present the story of how these Poles retained their unique identity.
