2016 Orientation Day
The orientation day, which is one of the important events in the department of Chinese and History, was successfully held on 23 August 2016.
Prof. LI Hsiao-ti, the head of Chinese and History department, started his speech by expressing his warm welcome to all fellow students and claimed that our programme employed numerous highly qualified scholars and professors. In order to strengthen students’ competitiveness for facing upcoming challenges, he encouraged students should grab every opportunity of doing internship and joining exchange programmes. Student representatives then introduced the vision and mission of mentor-and-mentee programme and share their experience of exchange and internship.
This year, our department has taken on a new look by combining Chinese, History and Cultural Heritage streams. The combination of the three professions allows each to demonstrate their individual strengths while complementing each other, consolidating the overall course content. Programme leaders from each stream have clearly introduced the programme structure. Besides, they encouraged students to be active partcipants in classes and build up their critical thinking. After that, senior students shared their experience in learning and communicated with the freshmen. The orientation day is a valuable chance for all the professors, senior students and freashmen to exchange greetings.
