2016 Field trip to Shenzhen Cultural District

The Shenzhen field trip had successfully ended on 16 January 2016. It provided a precious chance for CAH students to explore Chinese art and culture development. It was also our honor that Professor Kwok Kamhung, Lo Karkee and Cheng Oiman can join us during the trip.

On that day, after we had a sumptuous meal together, we visited OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT). We can discover that the ideas of old building reconstruction for the creative industry workshop has successfully introduced various types of creative industries such as design, photography, animation creation, education training, and art. Accompanied with some concept restaurants and coffee shops designed with creative characteristics, the place contained the rich cultural atmosphere. T-Street Creative Market is held nearby OCAT, some handicraft and leather products, as well as the antique collections, were sold there.

The final stop of our trip was Shenzhen Book City, which prides itself as one of the world’s largest bookstore. Thanks to the funding supported by CAH Department, we have bought some academic books in order to enrich our knowledge. The field visit not only built up the cohesive relationship among lecturers and students, but also broadened our views towards art and culture.
