Thank you for Mr. Kenneth K. W. Lo’s great generosity to the Department of Chinese and History (CAH), a HK$5M endowment fund will be set up in July 2017 to perpetuate the “Kenneth K. W. Lo PhD Studentship”. Mr. Lo has a passion for Chinese since he was young and he is dedicated to nurture future talents in Chinese-related fields through the establishment of an endowment fund. A maximum of two annual studentships will be granted to full-time research degree candidates starting from 2018/19 academic year, which will promote research in the areas of Chinese Language and Literature as well as Chinese History.
To express the University and the Department’s sincere thanks to the donor, Mr. Lo, for his generous support, a visit to CAH was arranged on 28 March 2017. Mr. Lo was warmly welcomed and received by Professor Way Kuo, President, and met with other representatives from the University, including Ms. Kathy Chan, Associate Vice-President (Development and Alumni Relations); Professor Zang Xiaowei, Dean of CLASS; Professor Li Hsiao-ti, Head of CAH; Dr. Chan Hok Yin, Associate Head of CAH; Professor Ching May Bo, administrative staff and one PhD student representative. The Department would also like to thank Dr. Fan Ka Wai for his valuable advice and assistance all along the process.
