Our BA-Chinese Year 4 student, LAW Kai Ying, and three other students minoring in Chinese for Professional Purposes, CHIN On Ki, FUNG Sin Ting and YIM Ying Ting, won the Silver Award for their entry “Be with You” in 2017 Kam Fan Awards Students’ Award, which was organized by The Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of Hong Kong (HK4As).
First launched in 1990, this annual event encourages creativity and nurtures local creative talents. It also helps inject new ideas and elements into Hong Kong's advertising industry, and move Hong Kong forward to make a greater contribution to the world.
With the assistance and guidance of their course instructor of CAH3165 Chinese for Advertising, Mr. KWOK Kam Hung, the students transformed their assignment into a competition entry. Apart from adopting a realistic and coherent writing style, elements such as “contradictions” and “conflicts” were also integrated into this inspiring work. Our team got the Silver Award among 200 groups of entrants from local tertiary institutions under the theme of “Moderate Use of Mobile Phone”.
The HK4As Kam Fan Awards Presentation Gala took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai in the evening of 24 November 2017. Following a speech delivered by Mr. Edward Yau Tang-wah, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the HKSAR Government, our team was invited to receive the award and take pictures on stage.
Congratulations again to LAW Kai Ying and her team members on their outstanding achievement, and we hope that our students will continue to develop their creativity and pursue excellence.
