Chung Siu Mui, Ribble is the Arts Administrator of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, council member, chairman of Arts Promotion Committee and Arts Administration group of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, member of Community Panel, Programme and Development Committee of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The "cultural industry" makes the hit of demand in arts administrators. Government increased resources to nurture arts administrators and many universities thus started its arts administration course to meet the market needs and in a sense of developing arts for Hong Kong. As an arts administrator, there are many factors affecting our decision from the creation of an artwork to its realisation process. In the current arts development circumstances, how can we contribute to the industry as one of the members? This talk will go through the role of an arts administrator from various aspects.
